(Q) How long have you been taking photos of graffiti & what interests you to do so??

(A) I have been taking photos of graffiti since about 1998, most of my pictures being of freight train graffiti.. I have always been facinated by trains and the variety of different cars/art that accompanies them..

(Q) Do you own photo albums of actual prints or do you prefer digital??

(A) I used to shoot all film when i first started benching.. Would start out hitting the local savemart and rack some film and hit the yard for some benching, drop the film off to Longs drugs for developing and go rack those and make photo albums.. These days I shoot mainly all digital now but I make books via a website called blurb.com.. Books resemble those put together by Southern Pacific Forever but I only print one copy for myself.. I dont sell them to the public.. Its a nice way of having my flicks organized in a great looking book..

(Q) How many photos are in your personal collection??

(A) I have 13,000 or so on the Flickr, but there are tons of digital photos I never upload and I have even more in albums.. I couldn’t even take a guess at how many acually are in my personal collection..

(Q) Do you feel photography plays a major role in documenting graffiti culture??

(A) I feel photography and documenting graffiti go hand in hand.. I think even more so when the internet wasn’t so huge.. Ten years ago there were less people taking flix and the internet wasn’t so much a part of things so you had to grab a flick of your shit.. It proves you did it and it was there.. These days you might paint a freight or something and not grab a flick and it pops up on Flickr once a month, which is nice, but photography is huge with graffiti.. I know a lot of people that paint something and that shits on the internet within 5 minutes.. Hahahaha..

(Q) Do you have any crazy stories or memorable moments while taking photos??

(A) Mainly just good memories of good times with good people.. We take a lot of benching trips where we will stay gone for a weekend camping, benching, painting, shit like that..
